Oh my goodness, it’s Friday and there is Mariners baseball afoot. But, first, another edition of FANPOST FRIDAY, WOOOOO!
This week’s prompt:
What is your favorite Mariners hat of all time and why?
We’re stepping out of actual baseball a bit here and dipping our toes into uniform aesthetics. So, what’s your favorite Mariners hat? It can be an on-field one or some weird one-off Spring Training hat from 2001. Whatever the reason, whatever the Mariners hat, let’s hear your stories. Please add a photo of the hat if you can. We will front page the best submissions over the course of the weekend.
I’ll always favor the yellow S design from 1987-1992 because that’s when I first started to really understand the game and fall in love with it and there just happened to be a generational talent (well, three, actually) who was rocking that bright blue and yellow and making it look like the coolest thing on earth. Yes, of course, I’m talking about Pete O’Brien! Who else? (Editor’s note: See me in my office today, Eric)
Also, I want to give a sincere thank you to everyone who has submitted FanPosts these first couple weeks. The quality of the submissions has been excellent, not that I expected any less from LL’s brilliant stalwarts and quiet lurkers. But, seriously, great stuff so far and I look forward to reading your responses this week and the rest of the season.
Let’s see them FanPosts!
