Good evening and welcome to yet another spring training game. The good news is that after today, there are only six of these left! Real, tangible baseball is juuuust out of reach, and it’ll be glorious when it comes. For now, though, let’s just hope no one gets hurt (again).
It’s good to see some familiar faces back in the lineup tonight!

Robinson Canó returns at DH, and Andrew Romine, Kyle Seager, and Ichiro! are all back in the lineup. Nelson Cruz should be back tomorrow, per Drayer, although Jean Segura’s timetable is a little murkier after jamming his thumb the other day. While he should be okay in the next few days, the clock has started ticking faster, and losing him for any significant stretch would be brutal. Here’s hoping that isn’t the case! Mike Leake gets the start in what will likely be his penultimate spring game.
The Brewers are having a split-squad day, and this looks like the “B” version, as one Muscle Wizard, Lorenzo Cain, and Christian Yelich are all missing. Christian Bethancourt, he of the failed catcher/pitcher/outfielder hybrid experiment, is behind the dish, and old friend Nick Franklin gets the start at third. At this point in spring training, National League teams have started forgoing the DH to gear their pitchers up for hitting (but really, we all know they’re just gearing up to bunt).
