3/10/18: Mariners vs. Reds Open Game Thread

Why exactly do the Reds go to Arizona, not Florida, again?

Hi. Here’s a solemn moment of silence for Tony Zych.

Now on with tonight’s action. Here come the managers to home plate with the...

LINEUPS!

As has been common this spring, top 2/3rds is a real bona fide big league team for the Mariners. My Man Mitch is back! Oh, and there’s three other guys in there, too.

For the Reds, we get to watch Joey Votto, Canada’s meanest (and funniest) export of all time, and former Mariners farmhand Patrick Kivlehan. Knock-off-TBS-comedy-star Sal Romano starts for the Red Legs. The first pitch tonight will be thrown by Goodyear, Arizona’s most famous product, Dry Heat. And it’s in there for a strike. Well done.

In other news:

Out to sing the national anthem is Mick Jagger, who really loves these Mariners-Reds spring training matchups and always requests to sing the national anthem at one of them.

Wow, he really nailed those high notes!
