Good morning/afternoon everyone. A red sun rises. We’ve got a big day of Mariners split squad action today, but first, some updates on Felix Hernandez’s injury from yesterday’s game:
Servais says Felix Hernandez understandably frustrated, but swelling already going down and he'll be "day to day." Could miss a start, but doesn't sound like he'll be out too long.

Felix says arm very sore and he can't bend it. But he'll ice and get treatment and hopes to be back soon.

"I can't explain how bad it was. I've never felt anything like that before."
Where did line drive hit Felix? RIght on the "13" tattoo on his upper forearm, which was for his 2013 All-Star appearance. Bad luck? No, could have been worse if hit elbow bone or elsewhere.

And a note from the retired Bob Dutton:
It’s good news from Peoria that everyone sounds pretty optimistic on Felix. One cautionary note: Felix is typically overly optimistic when it comes to his recovery from injuries. Pay more attention to what others say. https://t.co/vHSxF98bTd

Take all that as you will. Sounds like we’ll get an update at some point today on the injury, so we’ll keep you posted.
Onward, to JAMES PAXTON’S FIRST SPRING TRAINING START (hand-cranks the ol’ Paxton Klaxon, chugs maple syrup, makes it rain with Tim Bits).
