Tonight in Chavez Ravine, the visiting Boston Red Sox and home team Los Angeles Dodgers will play what is essentially their third baseball game in 24 hours. Last night’s bonanza set all kinds of World Series records for players used, time of game, and Ian Kinsler washedness, and now they have to do it all over again on prime television! Spectacular.
The Red Sox are continuing their tradition of insinuating that Mookie Betts will play second base and not actually playing him at second base, leading ALCS MVP Jackie Bradley Jr. to the bench tonight. We should also not look past the fact that David Freese is hitting leadoff and Steve Pearce is hitting third in the biggest MLB game of the year.
Game 4’s have a recent history of delivering iconic moments, and while tonight’s game will likely live in the shadow of Game 3 no matter what, there’s a high chance of an all-timer going down in Southern California on Saturday evening/morning.
