It’s heeeeeeeere. Red Sox. Dodgers. The World Series.
It’s not the neo-dynasty Astros or the bright upstart Brewers, but there’s something to be said for two storied franchises meeting on baseball’s biggest stage. Sale vs. Kershaw is the kind of matchup the postseason was made for, and beyond sending MLB execs into transports of delight about the marketing bonanza, should make for a pretty good game. In fact, this should be a pretty good series, especially if high-flying offenses are your thing. I have no rooting interest other than for the games to go clear out to Game 7 so we can squeeze maximum baseball out of the season before the cold dark winter descends.
