Around the League...
- The frostbitten hot stove got a minor spark as the Blue Jays traded OF Edward Olivares and RHP Jared Carkuff (both prospects), for INF Yangervis Solarte of the Padres. The deal should give Toronto a more palatable backup to their injury-prone starters of Troy Tulowitzki and Devon Travis, while giving San Diego a few more pieces during their rebuild.
- Former Rangers starter Nick Martinez is joining the Nippon Ham Fighters.
- The Padres have signed RHP Craig Stammen to a two-year deal.
- The Bahamas had a showcase on Saturday, with a home run derby of Bahamanian baseballers on the beach, including notable MLB prospects Lucius Fox Jr. and Bo Bichette!

- The Israeli National Team had an improbable run in this year’s World Baseball Classic. A film about the team’s unlikely journey will be on display in Atlanta in February.
John’s Pick...
- If you like rap music and funky music videos I must recommend BROCKHAMPTON. They just came out with a new album called SATURATION III and I’m a fan. Their most entertaining video, in my opinion, is GOLD.
