A happy, smoke-hazed Thursday to you all. Hope everyone is hanging in there and staying as cool as they can. I am sequestered in my dark house in Seattle with a every fan I have blasting, since going outside with our baby isn’t particularly safe given the temperature and air quality. The summer struggle is real, you guys.

Anyways, today marks the beginning of an important 4 game series with the Kansas City Royals, the team just barely ahead of the Mariners in the Wild Card race. So the good news is that the Mariners can gain some serious ground in the next 4 days. The bad news is that Yovani Gallardo is starting tonight and I regret to inform you that the Royals are pretty good at hitting. But hey, it is the wonderful, noble game of baseball and anything can happen, even a Yovani complete game shut out win (shhhh, let me dream).
