Well, after yesterday’s exciting 11-inning win, we’re back at it for some daytime baseball! Though Robbie Canó made an appearance as a pinch-hitter in Friday’s contest, he isn’t in today’s lineup, meaning “La Pesadilla” will get the start at second base instead.
In addition, Gary Sanchez remains in the Yankees’ lineup, a sign that his appeal is still being processed.
Fun fact of the day: despite being in the M’s division for most of the year, this will be Sonny Gray’s first appearance against Seattle since May 6, 2016, when he allowed seven runs in seven innings. Let’s hope for a repeat of that performance, and not his other nine starts against the Mariners, where he has an ERA of 2.14.
