I don’t know about you, but I am excited every time the Mariners play the Braves. Like many youths of the 1990s, I grew up watching the Braves on TBS. In those days before Interleague Play (and when Interleague Play was only against the NL West), I dreamed of meeting the Braves in the World Series. Since the Mariners failed to get there in any of the years the Braves played (and, may I note, lost except for 1995) in the World Series I get to live out my childhood dreams in a run of the mill regular season interleague game. It’s not quite the same thing, but nonetheless the excitement is always there.
To the lineups!
You will notice Nelson Cruz wore down Scott Servais and/or snuck into his office and changed the lineups to put himself in right field.
Marco Gonzales will start for your Seattle Mariners against Lucas Sims. Sims is not as good as Maddux, Glavine, and Smoltz were back in the 90s, so I like our chances.
