After a fun win full of good times and a monster Nelson Cruz dinger, the Mariners look to keep the good vibes going today in Tampa Bay. Scott Servais and Co. tried to engineer a few of those good vibes, it seems:
Not sure what #Mariners have planned in clubhouse today but some people just rolled in crates marked live animals

I guess they’ve had to shuttle so many players back and forth from Tacoma they’re looking at whatever cost-saving measure they can get?
Oh wait:
Team bonding! If you want to see more, Manny Acta’s Instagram story has several more scenes of the players interacting with the animals. Cruz, unsurprisingly, was eager to hold all of them. Emilio Pagan, who is me, kept a very healthy distance from the whole thing.
Lineups!
Today’s roster moves: Jarrod Dyson is headed to the 10-day DL, which is sucky because he’s about the only person on the team I trust to steal bases. The decidedly slower-footed Mitch Haniger was recalled from Tacoma to take his place. In today’s endless pitcher shuffle, Sam Gaviglio is headed back to Tacoma without pitching a single major league inning since he was called up on the 16th. Poor Sam. Casey Lawrence will take his spot in the bullpen. After a string of three good appearances, Lawrence’s last two haven’t been so hot. I don’t know, I’d almost rather see Gaviglio, who is at least consistent in what he does, especially with Miranda starting, who’s been pretty bad lately. Please just don’t give up all the dingers in the world, Ariel.
Game time: 3:10 PST, on TV at ROOT NW, on the radio at 710 ESPN, and online at MLB.tv
The 2017 Mariners: Whatever, it’s snakes.
