Ariel Miranda vs. Masahiro Tanaka

Salutations.

The Mariners square off tonight against Masahiro Tanaka, who's had an interesting season. He has the highest ERA of his career right now, but his xFIP is still 3.73. He's striking a lot of batters out and keeping balls on the ground; however, his 22.6 HR/FB is the highest in the majors.

Recently, though, he's had better luck. His xFIP since the start of June is 3.11 and his K/9 is 10.36. If Tanaka can keep the few fly balls he allows in the yard, he's tough to beat.

The Yankees rolled into Safeco and took the first two games of the series off a Mariners team that came out of the All-Star Break firing. What's up with that? Time to take back our home town.
