The Mariners play a baseball game today, and if you're guessing that the 25-man roster will not reflect the 25-man roster of yesterday, you'd be correct. Kate dropped a rundown earlier, but to catch you up real quick:
- RHP Evan Marshall to the 10-Day DL
- RHP Emilio Pagan to Triple-A Tacoma
- RHP Dan Altavilla to Seattle
- RHP Rob Whalen to Seattle
I do not look forward to playing a "Name the 2017 Seattle Mariners relievers" Sporcle in a few years.
Getting the start for the Mariners will be RHP Chase De Jong, who will be making his second career start. For the Mariners' sake, let's hope that De Jong suffered from nerves and a severe case of FacingTheDefendingALChampsisitis in his previous outing, when he was roughed up by the Cleveland Indians and quickly removed.
