Rick Porcello vs. Christian Bergman

The Mariners managed to skate past having to face several tough pitchers this road trip, but their luck runs out as today nu-metal enthusiast/half of Seattle's grumpy old men tandem Christian Bergman squares off against last year's Cy Young winner Rick Porcello. This one might sting some.

It's a day that ends in y, so we have a roster move:

Harper has been reliable in Tacoma, posting a K/9 of around 12. He has struggled with his command a little this year, which is uncharacteristic for him, but his wipeout curveball has been enough to get him past PCL batters. He doesn't throw hard at all, and his success will depend on if he can use his fastball to get to the curveball. But he's been consistent throughout his minors career and it's time he got a shot. Luckily, the bar for "complete embarrassment" is pretty low.
