04/14: Open Game Thread

Will Felix Hernandez be the hero we desperately need and want? Or will the Texas Rangers walk into town and devastate us all over again?

The last game the Mariners played was terrible, awful, and horrendous. It was the game that launched a thousand swears. We've all had a day to process our feelings, sink into denial, or embrace the suckiness. Whatever your journey you find yourself back here yet again.

Today is a game of firsts for the Mariners. First game back after an off day this season. First night the King's Court will be in session. First game against Texas. First game with the Ken Griffey Jr. statue in front of the ballpark. First day of the Lookout Landing Workout Routine and RISP fitness challenge. It's basically New Year's Day and a third Opening Day for the Mariners to declare to the world, "Call me Ishamel!" and go off in search of the ungraspable phantom of life/baseball, the playoffs.

Whether we will revel in a new birth of Mariners baseball, or join here to commiserate and complain about the team, it's a fresh game, a fresh start, and, if nothing else, it's Friday.

Here's the lineup at which you will either yell adulations or yell swears today:
