The following game thread features examples of good and bad commenting. It should be quite obvious which is which, but if you’re confused you may cheat with this handy guideline.
“Omg omg omg only one more Spring Training game left! Lol thank God it's done now let's go win the division and the World Series!!!”- posted by MarinerLuvr2160 on March 31, 2017 | 6:37 PM
“It’s great to see what should be the actual lineup against righties. Dropping Dyson down makes sense with his career splits, and as his hamstring continues to heal. I like keeping some speed for the bottom of the lineup, too.”- posted by SweetAsSucre on March 31, 2017 | 6:41 PM
“Paxton looks pretty good in this last ST outing. It’s more pitches in a first inning than I’d like (29), and I don’t love how deep into counts he’s getting, but it’s great to see him strike out the side. It’s especially promising since his curve doesn’t seem to be working as well for him tonight, but he’s still able to power through.”- posted by ForeverYoung on March 31, 2017 | 6:45 PM
“Man, Segura’s going to be so much fun to watch this season. If he keeps up this solid spring he’s easily the best Mariners shortstop since A-Rod.”- posted by theneverendystory on March 31, 2017 | 6:59 PM
In reply to theneverendystory: “A-Rod sucks. All about the money but was never good enough and had to take roids that probably shrunk his junk. Guess lil Jenny from the block doesn't care though. Damn she's hot- check out this pic.”- posted by S3att13 on March 31, 2017 | 7:21 PM

“Damn. No hustle at all from Robbie on that grounder. Everyone talks about how he was so great last season, but he’s still just the same old lazy, money-hungry Yankee. Boooooo”- posted by 2064evs on March 31, 2017 | 7:07 PM
“There we go, Boss! Hopefully his decent spring will keep him from falling into his annual April slump, but if he tanks again in the first month of the season I want Servais to stick him in the bullpen and make him a reliever for a game, just for a fun little change of scenery.”- posted by fisterIbarely on March 31, 2017 | 7:45 PM
“The Rockies have some serious talent in their lineup. That was a good location on the pitch from Overton, but Story was able to get just enough to drive it over the left field fence. I can’t wait for the home run derby series when the M’s go to Coors this summer.”- posted by FlightOfTheCondor on March 31, 2017 | 8:36 PM
“Those nachos they just showed on the broadcast looked killer. I just moved up to Seattle and am seriously craving some good Mexican food- what are your favorite spots around the city?”- posted by LeelessInSeattle on March 31, 2017 | 9:13 PM
“same old mariners..no fight in them. if they somehow end up ahead they always go and screw it up in the end....nevermind if they’re already losing. just a weak team..that’s why no world series. bad team, poor leadership. bring back jack. i liked him.”- posted by gary192837465 on March 31, 2017 | 9:52 PM
“So great to see Díaz looking dominant and efficient at this point in ST. He only needed 10 pitches to get those three outs, and if he can get that changeup working during the season it’s only going to make him more deadly in the ninth.”- posted by PutzTheMagicDragon on March 31, 2017 | 10:00 PM

Tonight, in the penultimate spring training game of the 2017 season, the Seattle Mariners unsatisfactorily tied with the Colorado Rockies 5-5. Three days from now there will be meaningful baseball, and there’s a chance the Mariners might even be kind of good this season. Whether you’re a longstanding reguLLar, or new to this Richie Sexson panopticon, we’re excited to be writing and engaging with you this season.
