The Mariners take on the hated Angels today in a battle that will jump-start one team to AL West supremacy. More importantly, the Mariners are one game ahead of the Angels in the Cactus League standings, so this game is crucial in the race for the Cactus Cup. As if you weren’t already drooling with anticipation, the Angels are starting a familiar face at the DH spot:

That’s right, Dustin Ackley will start for the Angels as he attempts to make his way onto the team.

The Angels are playing split-squad games today, so that explains the dearth of talent in their lineup. Danny Valencia, Taylor Motter, and Mike Freeman will be getting starts today as they continue to attempt to impress.

Cody Martin will look to continue his impressive spring training despite his slim chance to make the team. At worst, it looks like he’ll be good depth this year.
