Yesterday morning I saw this tweet from Shannon Drayer:
There is now a PTPA tracking sheet up in Mariners clubhouse. They've used it in the minors, fist time I have seen it on the big league side.

For those who don’t know, the Mariners define a PTPA (productive team plate appearance) as a PA where a player gets a hit, gets a walk, gets hit by a pitch, advances a runner with an out or an error, records a sacrifice fly or sacrifice bunt, or has an eight-pitch plate appearance. This made me think about which M’s hitters have been good at racking up longer plate appearances, which brings us to today’s Sporcle.
Over the past decade, the average hitter in MLB has seen about 3.83 pitches per plate appearance. For this quiz, we’re setting our threshold of “sees a lot of pitches” at 4.0 pitches per plate appearance. (This is a fairly arbitration selection because people love nice round numbers.) Since 2007, a Mariners hitter has seen at least 4 P/PA in a single season (min 100 PA) 46 times. This has been accomplished by 29 different players. How many of them can you name?
Good luck!
