It be baseball.

MLB: Spring Training-San Diego Padres at Seattle Mariners Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Well how do ya do. The Mariners are playing some baseball today, against our ARCH RIVAL Padres in Peoria. The M’s are rolling out what will likely be their Opening Day lineup against right-handed pitchers, giving us an early look at how they see this group fitting together. The Padres are also using what will likely be their Opening Day lineup, though against left-handed pitchers.

While this game isn’t on the tube or the net, it is still a game that is being played. It’s a game of men in their pajamas practicing for a more important game in which they will wear similar pajamas. But it’s the first of something. It’s the first time we get to see Mitch Haniger, Jean Segura, and Jarrod Dyson actively playing in the blue and white. It’s the first time this year we’ll get to see the cavalcade of relievers that will likely follow starter Ariel Miranda. It’s the first time this year that we get to look at the calendar and see the old familiar face of Mariners baseball.
