Jacob Hannemann returns to the club the Mariners claimed him from, likely ending his career as a Seattle Mariner after just 20 games. In order to free up a spot for him on their 40-man roster, the Cubs DFA’d former Mariner Mike Freeman.
Scott Servais’ go-to man down the stretch, Ryan Garton, was outrighted to Triple-A, removing him from the M’s 40-man as well.
The 40-man roster now sits at 38. And if you were wondering, Jerry made his first noteworthy trade of last offseason—acquiring Danny Valencia—on November 12th.
