Doug Fister vs Ariel Miranda folks I think 2010 is the year they finally do it!

Well what was once a good chance to make up some real, tangible ground in a winnable Wild Card race has now turned into a meeting in the Principal's office, left to explaining your intentions but unable to get in a word between lectures about Just What Were You Thinking, Young (Wo)Man?

But now isn't the time to dwell on such matters (although, for the record, it was the Astros, and you kind of knew this was exactly how it was going to all go down). We should thank the good Cthulhu above that everybody kindly decided to lose last night, but today it's Ariel Miranda vs not only the Houston Astros, but also the Detroit Tigers, Baltimore Orioles, and Toronto Blue Jays. Ah,

On the mound for the Astros today will be our old friend Doug Fister, who hasn't thrown a quality start since August 22nd. He's walking batters at a career-high BB/9 of 3.06 so far this season--his last trip to Safeco saw him walking seven batters--but you know, chickens, eggs, etc. Here's to gaining some kind of ground, or at least treading water in the process. goms.
