8/9 Open Game Thread

Jennifer Buchanan-USA TODAY Sports

The Seattle Mariners are going for their first five game winning streak of the year against the team that is standing right between them and a wild card spot, so tonight should be a dull affair. About 80% of the LL staff will be at the game tonight as well, so our bad in advance for the parade of destruction certain to unfold. The Mariners are putting their best Wade forward which, while wonderful, is rather concerning against the top few members of the Tigers' order, a group that happily feasts on left-handed pitching. Otherwise, though, the Tigers have actually struggled against lefties, so hopefully LeBlanc can follow Kuma's lead and we can have a successful Bark at the Park for victory. Ketel Marte is back and skinnier than ever. Hopefully that kiss was worth it and granted him magic hitting powers, because Marte looking like a solid player would be icing on the cake of this team's strong recent stretch.
