This evening Michael Fulmer faces off against Hisashi Iwakuma to start off a three game series against the Detroit Tigers that has, if you're an optimist, all kinds of hopeful implications. If you're a pessimist go away, we already know we're dying. It's hard not to get excited, though, coming off a magical Griffey weekend and goddamn glorious sweep of Mike Trout & Co. The Mariners are in second place in the AL West, and things are just starting to get good.
On the eve of yet another Kuma start, let us take a moment to give thanks to the overly cautious Dodgers front office, and whatever superglue Jerry Dipoto used to permanently fuse together the splintery popsicle sticks of the Bear's body. Tonight's lineup also features an encore performance by future Sporcle answer Mike Freeman at shortstop, because even grit is not immune to the common cold. There's also a chance we may see Arquimedes Caminero make his first in a Mariners uniform, after a slightly strange roster move earlier today. Tonight there might be dingers, and there will hopefully be base hits, but you can rest assured that by 7:10 PM there will absolutely be baseball.

It goes against every stranger danger video they ever showed in elementary school, but you guys seem like (mostly) good people and it'd be great to meet ya if you're there.
