Hisashi Iwakuma vs. Rick Porcello

Kevin Sousa-USA TODAY Sports

The Seattle Mariners currently have a series split against the Boston Red Sox, and hopefully the good will carries over from last night to today. Yesterday, David Price spent much of the game making the Mariner hitters look like children, but the Red Sox bullpen couldn't hold it together. The M's powered home five runs in the bottom of the 8th to give the Mariners the win.

Hisashi Iwakuma takes the hill for the Mariners, and he is looking to bounce back from his absolutely dreadful previous start against the Chicago Cubs. Iwakuma had stitched together a pretty decent July until July 29, when he only lasted three innings, gave up eight hits and a walk en route to five earned runs. The Red Sox are countering with Rick Porcello, who is in the process of having the best year of his career. He owns a FIP of 3.59, almost the lowest of his career, and has already been worth fWAR 2.6 this season, just 0.3 under his all-time high.
