The deadline passed and the Mariners didn't do anything. But other teams are more exciting than the Mariners. So let's talk about them:

  • The M's were reportedly close on a trade for Zack Cozart but a trade never transpired.
  • The A's gave up Josh Reddick and Rich Hill in a deal with the Dodgers.
  • The Rangers made two large moves, one for Carlos Beltran and another for Jonathan Lucroy.
  • The Mets ended up with Reds outfielder Jay Bruce.
  • The Indians made a move for reliever Andrew Miller.
  • In order to bolster a weakened bullpen, the Yankees have acquired reliever Tyler Clippard.
  • The Cardinals made a deal with the White Sox for lefty reliever Zach Duke.
  • The Padres re-acquired starter Colin Rea after he got injured with the Marlins.
  • Will Smith (not the actor, hahahahaha ok sorry) got moved to San Francisco.
  • The Giants also netted starter Matt Moore in a deal with the Rays.
  • The Blue Jays have acquired starter Francisco Liriano from the Pirates.
  • The Angels and Twins made a swap that Dave Cameron considered one of the strangest he's seen.
  • Some drama is going on in Los Angeles as Yasiel Puig didn't join the team on the trip to Colorado despite being on the active roster.
