This is a bummer of epic proportions, and there are not enough swears in my vocabulary to adequately express how much this completely hecking sucks. I don't really want to talk about it, nor do I want to share the vaguely dastardly thoughts I've had about the fate of Andrelton Simmons. If you're looking for a slight silver lining on this very gloomy cloud (which I doubt many of you are) at least this happened in August, which should hopefully leave him good to go for September. There's not much of a margin for error in these next few weeks but this pitching staff has already been through the wringer and yet somehow the team has found themselves still in contention anyway.
Tonight, on a muggy, unpleasant evening in southern California the Mariners will look to continue their most recent win streak while Super Trout and his korn-fed sidekick Kole Calhoun attempt to halt an 11 game losing streak (if you have more interesting superhero/sidekick names please suggest them in the comments…though I'm pretty sure no one reads this stuff up here anyway).
