Your Seattle Mariners will be playing their third game against the Baltimore Orioles, in what for some reason is a four-game series that could end with a tie like un-American sports.
On the hill for the Mariners is James Paxton, a man who has struck out a quarter of the batters he's faced this year. If Wade LeBlanc could take care of the Orioles, one would hope that Paxton can do the same. Among all starters who have thrown at least 30 innings this year, Paxton sits second to only Thor himself for the league's hardest fastball, one he hopes to blow by the likes of old friend Mark Trumbo.
Tyler Wilson is on the mound for the Orioles, he of a sub-90s heater and no effective breaking ball to speak of. Sadly, Wilson doesn't have a platoon split to speak of, since his ineffective breaking ball is a curve, so the lefty-heavy lineup may not be able to take advantage as hoped.
Elsewhere, the Twins scored 17 runs against the Rangers and made the rest of the AL their new best friends. The A's are at home against the Buccos, the Angels are in Boston, and the Astros hosted the White Sox. In other White Hot Sports News, Novak Djokovic lost in four sets to AMERICAN HERO Sam Querrey.
