It's Sunday, and Mike Montgomery will take the mound for his second start of the season. His first start went fine, but was nothing to write home about. Sure, he allowed just one earned to the Royals, but it came on a homer and he only struck out three of the 22 batters he faced. While a quality bullpen arm, MiMo hasn't done much of note as a starter; he did, however, keep his uptick in velocity despite going six innings against Kansas City, so keep an eye on that today.
The Astros will roll out Collin McHugh, a cutter-curveball guy who's been a quality starter for the Astros since they acquired him back in 2014. Expect many a cutter on the outer third against the left-handed M's lineup, with curveballs below the zone. In his two previous starts against the Mariners this year, McHugh has thrown 12 innings, striking out eight batters and allowing three earned.
Elsewhere, the Angels are hosting the White Sox, the Rangers are in Chicago against the Cubs, and Oakland is facing off against Toronto in the bay.
