Wade Miley's back and squaring off against the Pirates.

Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

Wade Miley has returned to do his job and get those dirty swashbucklers off his property and earn the Mariners their second series win of the month. Miley last pitched on the 12th against the Rangers, and the left-hander brings a 5.28 ERA into tonight. Miley faced the Pirates back in July of 2014 and struck out 10 batters over eight innings, which means anything less tonight is a disappointment and should be booed.

On the hill for the Buccos is Jameson Taillon, the second overall pick in the 2010 draft. Taillon throws quite hard and features a solid curveball as his offspeed offering, but his results this year have been mediocre. After walking six and allowing two homers in 10 AAA starts, Taillon has allowed four homers while walking five across his four big league starts.

Elsewhere, the Angels got battered by the Astros earlier today, the Rangers are dealing with the Yankees, and Oakland has a cross-town series with the Giants.
