I am sandwiched between children's school responsibilities and Little League so that puts me in a bit of a rush at the moment. I guess one way you could describe this predicament would be to say I'm just a piece of Dad Meat and, oh, wait, um, let's start over.....
Hold on......
OK....here....we......go.....
Hi and welcome to another game thread for a baseball game involving the Seattle Mariners! Today's starting pitcher is Wade Miley, who has been giving up lots of home runs because he keeps throwing baseballs over the middle of the plate to very strong men. Our hope should be that he ceases this activity tonight, or at least keeps it to the bare minimum.
As for the Padres, they are pitching right-hander Colin Rea. Rea, much like the vast majority of his teammates, is not very good, and I fully expect the Mariners Really Good Offense to score a fair amount of runs, even in the vast acreage of Petco Park.
The Padres are bad, the Mariners are not, and so they should win. But this is baseball, which is part of life, which exists on a timeline that moves in one direction, and keeps we mere mortals forever trapped in the present. Thus, while we know the Mariners should win we do not know if they will win. So we will watch tonight's game with confidence touched by trepidation, and root for Our Boys to emerge triumphant.
Win, you suddenly skillful rogues.
