Wade Miley vs. Alfredo Simon

Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

WHOA its early but hey....the Mariners are about to play baseball! And they are gonna do that despite the fact that they just

beat the Reds yesterday

watched Guti hit a baseball almost 500 feet

and welcomed Chris Taylor's eyebrows back to the major league clubhouse.

It's true! The Mariners have basically already won the World Series. What's left for them? I don't know, a series sweep against the Reds, a Ken Griffey Jr. Bobblehead hijack (break the reds guy off), another increase in their already colossally great playoff odds. I will now stop talking about the mariners and the playoffs because I've been writing about this team for long enough to know when you need to start being careful about things you do not understand.

Well in an hour the boys will step in the box to face Alfredo Simon, and here's the deal: he is 1-4 and he walks about nine hundred batters every game. He also gives up a lot of homer dinger runners. These are all good things, and while the Mariners have already won the series, a little part of me wonders if that's not too much already for providence to interfere and do something about this. WE SHALL SEE.

Coffee, bacon, pancakes, etc. There is nothing in the world quite as wonderful as breakfast baseball, so enjoy it while it lasts.
