After a win in which the Reds bullpen predictably shat its pantaloons, it's Felix Day in Cincinnati! The King will try for his second straight excellent start after giving it to the Angels last Sunday. Felix's changeup will be very important, as he needs to keep Jay Bruce and Joey Votto off of his fastball, but he needs his fastball to set up the change...oh what tangled webs we weave.
On the hill for the Redlegs is John Lamb, who you may remember as part of the outstanding trio of left-handed pitching prospects the Royals were developing just a few years ago -- a trio which included Danny Duffy and our own Mike Montgomery. Lamb went over to Cincy in the Johnny Cueto deal last year, and he struck out a quarter of the batters he faced in his ten starts. This year, Lamb has been much more bleh, with his velocity in the high-80s and his whiff rate down a few points. But he's left-handed so he will strike out 1000 Mariners today.
Elsewhere in the world, the Cavs face the Raptors again today and will continue the process of extincting them. That's a real word. Look it up. (Don't.) There's this weird thing with ice and sticks that I think may be happening, but I'm not sure because this is America.
