The Mariners lost last night. It was boring, and it was frustrating, and it was easy to shake your head and think that the past week's success was just a blip before another season of mediocrity.
But that's the wrong attitude.
As it stands, Nathan Karns will be taking the mound tonight, coming off of what was indisputably his best start in a Mariner uniform. Seattle is just a half game back from the top of the AL West standings. The team finished April above .500 for the second time since 2003.
I'm not here to tell you what to do, but I do have a suggestion: Give into just a little bit of hope that this season could be as fun as it's shaping up to be. It's a beautiful night in the Bay Area, and the Mariners have a chance to put a little distance between themselves and the third-place A's.
Go M's.
