Edgar Olmos Vs. Aaron Brooks. No not that Aaron Brooks. No, not that one either.

Good evening and happy football and holiday weekend eve. Tonight the Mariners are opening a three game series at O.co Coliseum against the Oakland Athletics, who are somehow worse than the Mariners. The Mariners are starting Edgar Olmos, who will hopefully get through 5 innings or so before handing off to the recently better than horrific bullpen.

Nelson Cruz is "day to day" with what's being officially called a "wonky leg part" so Franklin Gutierrez, dashingly handsome rogue, steps into the number three spot in the lineup. There's no reason to rush Cruz back of course, and his wRC+ over the last week is 1, which is bad. I just want him to get to 40 home runs, which he is only one short of. Hopefully a few days off gets him right.

There is no work for many days, it is a pleasant Friday night and the two last place teams in the AL West are starting pitchers that began the season in the minor leagues.

Welcome, to Major League Baseball Friday Night.

Win, ya hosers.
