James Paxton vs. Yovani Gallardo

What Not to Wear: Texas Edition
What Not to Wear: Texas Edition
Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

I don't know what Derek Jeter would say about this game, except that Paxton and the Mariners will look to play spoiler to the Texas Rangers, who lead the AL West by 2.5 games over the Astros. I don't know what Derek Jeter would say about James Paxton's second game back from the DL, except that James had a reasonably good start against the Rockies despite taking the loss.

And I don't know what Derek Jeter would say about Yovani Gallardo, except that he got hit around a bit by the A's in his last start, snapping a five game win streak. He's also pitched the Mariners annoyingly well, going 2-1 with a di2re2pectful 1.56 ERA.

Make good choices, Mariners. And remember, the internet always remembers.

Let's hope we win, and everyone else in the AL West loses, and that Jered Weaver suffers some minor inconvenience that causes him no harm but really ruins his weekend. Like popping a bubblegum bubble on his goatee. Are you ready?
