Mike Montgomery vs Martin Perez

The Mariners will look to continue their recent winning ways (what?) this afternoon as they take on the Texas Rangers, in a game featuring Mike Napoli and Josh Hamilton and a promising Mariners lefty rookie and wait it's 2015. Guess which part of that sentence is the weird part.

Still, With Jesus Montero filling in at first, and Ketel Marte letting Brad take a day off between the bags and roam...uh left field, you have to at least be excited for a little forward-looking ball, especially one in which a win counts twice for the division. Today they'll be looking to get the win against the Rangers' Martin Perez, who has pitched in only four games this year since winning ten during his rookie 2013. Perez is a lefty with a BABIP problem and a low K rate, so it will be interesting to see if the Mariners a) capitalize on that or b) help him on his road to recovery, but either way, you're not really going to be that surprised are you?

Goms, unless they don't, in which case, uh, goms?
