Edgar Olmos Vs. Jose Quintana

The games may have lost a large part of their luster, Autumn may have blown its first gusts, but today the Mariners can do something they have not done in a very long time. With a win today the team will win a 4 game series in Chicago for the first time since August of 2000. It would be the first time winning any series in the Windy City since 2007. The White Sox are the worst.

Roster changes are about to happen in huge quantities with roster expansions this week but today the team went ahead and sent down Mike Montgomery:

Ketel Marte is sitting after going 1-14 the last 3 games, Ol' Asparagus is back at shortstop, Kyle Seager is at 3B where he belongs, John Hicks is at catcher where b-ref tells me he belongs, and Edgar Olmos' mustache's pet human will make his first career major league start. It's full on silly season from here til the end of September, and wacky lineups, positional changes, and rotation juggling is about to be the norm. Learn to chuckle darkly to yourself.

Win, ya No No Nanettes.
