Felix Hernandez Vs. Chris Bassitt

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

Today is a good day to get up late, go for a run, have some granola and coffee, ready a bit of poetry, sit outside and then spend a few hours watching Felix Hernandez pitch for the Seattle Mariners. The Mariners are going for a series win against the A's, perhaps to only team to Mariner harder than the Mariners this year, although maybe that's the Nationals. Actually it's really interesting that the two teams that have never made a World Series were preseason favorites to do exactly that only to catastrophically fall on their faces. Mationals, Nariners. Or something.

Chris Bassitt is another anonymous, semi-effective player spat out of Oakland's Baseball Player Playdough factory. I'm writing this prior to lineups being announced but as Bassitt is right-handed I'm hopeful we get both Ketel Marte and Brad Miller today. Baseball is more fun to watch with athletes playing the field. Miller and Marte are two of the best the Mariners have. We are way past worrying about final record here, give us some eye candy.

From late last night came what I found to be this interesting tidbit for your consideration:

Win, ya geoducks.
