Alright you baseball blog readers, commenters and fans. Look here: It is Tuesday and the Mariners are playing a baseball game against the Baltimore Orioles. There are plenty of things to do besides watch this game. It is nice out and the northwest is a paradise. I would completely understand if you decided to do something else with your evening.

BUT Taijuan Walker is pitching, and I know it's sacrilege but I've found myself looking forward to Tai days more than any other game days for a month or so now. It's not that he's the team's best pitcher, far from it. But his development has been so easy and rewarding to observe this year. He's basically learning to be a pitcher for the first time, on the fly in the major leagues, at 22 years old. He has started to throw a really fun curveball. He threw a one-hitter.

Tai Walker may be the real thing and that's exciting. So while the team is rolling out another sub-optimal lineup, the hitting with RISP will probably be infuriating, the outfield defense will be atrocious and the bullpen could start a fire with a wet match in a snowstorm there's a fun reason to watch.

If you decide to watch, I hope you enjoy it. We're getting to the beginning of the time of year where I realize how little baseball we have in front of us. It's really the best game y'all, regardless of how knuckleheaded the Mariners are.

Win, ya blockheads.
