Sad news today on the holiday weekend:
McClendon won't manage the team for the three games vs the Tigers. His sister, Angela, passed away. And he will leave for her funeral.

Bench manager Trent Jewett will manage the team in McClendon's absence.
We don't know the details of how and how suddenly Angela passed away and, frankly, I don't intend to go prying for them. If those come out later we'll amend this post at that time. This is obviously something much bigger than the team's disappointing first half.
This is the second family death in the Mariner organization in the past 2 weeks, coming off the recent passing of Dave Sim's father-in-law. We wish Lloyd and his family well; may they grieve together and find comfort in the sharing of memories and looking back on a life well lived. McClendon will rejoin the team at the end of the week.
Love ya, Lloyd.
