J.A. Happ vs Drew Hutchison

Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

This afternoon the Mariners will look to win their third straight game. That sentence is something that you have not been able to say since approximately 1987, a year which gave us Arnold Schwarzenegger in both The Running Man AND Predator, a year in which the Minnesota Twins won their second of three World Series, and finally, one which featured approximately ten months of a world without the gift of one Kyle Duerr Seager.

Thankfully, Kyle Seager is now a part of our world, and will very likely be helping the Seattle Mariners win their third straight game this afternoon. Of course, Mark Trumbo hit a dinger last night, so that mean's he's probably going to be the recipient of a shiny golden hat this afternoon, and hell, the rest of the guys are probably going to just sleep in anyway. I'd love to be proven wrong, but hey, it's been 28 years since they had a real win streak, and you can look that shit up.

goms.
