Taijuan Walker Vs. Sonny Gray

Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

Good evening, friends! It's a gorgeous Friday night in Seattle as the Mariners have returned home to take on the struggling Oakland A's in a battle of disappointing AL West rivals. There is good reason to be optimistic about the team going forward, as our own resident tall person Brendan broke down earlier today. Also the A's feature a bullpen that has been somehow even worse than the Mariners, which you can learn more about in Jake's Series Preview.

The mound matchup is a little less rosy, with thusfar disappointing Taijuan Walker going up against Oakland ace Sonny Gray. So far in 2015 Gray has allowed only a single home run. Here is that home run:

The matchup doesn't look good but baseball is a stupid game that cares little about merit or quality and will just probably randomly poop out a winner anyway. See this game as an example.

If you were working or drinking or exercising or for some reason not paying attention the team activated Tom Wilhelmson and demoted Dominic Leone, the latter thanks to Michael. Appreciate the readership, Jack. Also Joe Beimel is attempting to inject some solidarity through outerwear uniformity among the bullpen. You know, outside of their uniform:

Win the game, ya turkeys.
