Day 2 of the Winter Meetings is complete, and with it were more moves. Let's review:
- The Rockies made deals with a pair of relief pitchers: Jason Motte and Chad Qualls.
- The Cardinals and Padres swapped a pair of players: Jedd Gyorko and Jon Jay.
- The Braves agreed to a deal with catcher Tyler Flowers.
- Ben Zobirst will join the Cubs after signing a four-year deal.
- The Cubs then turned around and sent infielder Starlin Castro to the Yankees.
- The Diamondbacks managed to acquire starter Shelby Miller from the Braves.
There were, of course, some rumors, analysis, and minor news as well:
- The Mariners have signed outfielder Mike Baxter to a minor league deal.
- Bob Dutton has some good notes in his review of the Mariners' action in the second day of the meetings.
- The Astros have met with left-handed pitcher Scott Kazmir.
- The Orioles reportedly made a rather large contract offer to Chris Davis.
- The asking prices for Jose Fernandez are incredibly high.
