Oh, hello there. You startled me.
What are you doing here?
Just stopping by? Passing through on your way to a prior engagement? Trying to find information about the upcoming Seahawks game and inadvertently stumbling across another Seattle sports team blog for information?
Your visit, most assuredly, will be brief. I don't blame you. As you may have heard, last night the season ended for these here Seattle Mariners. Felix Hernandez pitched a beauty, Robinson Cano hit a game-saving dinger, and then 43,000 Seattle Fans had their hopes and dreams for the first playoff run they had seen in over a decade dashed when Fernando Rodney walked four batters in the tenth inning, including the game-winning run.
It's silly, really, that they are even out there playing today. Did they not hear that the season was over? That there is no point in playing any more of the 15 games they have left, not nearly enough time to make up the one-game Wild Card deficit that stands between them and the playoffs? Foolish, really. Absolutely foolish. I don't get it either.
Sell the farm. Turn it off.
And if you need me, I'll be nursing my wounds in a dark corner with my head in a bucket. Meanwhile these losers are going to keep playing baseball for some reason. I really just don't understand why. Really don't.
