I'll admit it, I left the bar before last night's 9th inning comeback. Seahawks jerseys were pouring in, I knew that the bar was going to switch the channel any moment, and I wasn't that far from home. I'm still buzzing over what I witnessed when I came home -- the kind of thing that never happens to the Mariners, and never against Koji Uehara. A walk? 10 pitches? To Endy Chavez? Three two-strike counts with two outs and failure to record an out? BABIP magic?
What a miraculous comeback! Celebrate with us, Dustin!
RAW EMOTION
Today's got Chris Young in Fenway Park, which *gulp* but he'll get to face Brandon Workman, who hasn't been particularly great but not completely terrible either as he went from reliever to sporadic starter, especially after the Red Sox sold off their rotation at the deadline. Workman has only started one game since August 7th, as the Red Sox were forced to use him in their 19 inning loss to the Angels on August 9th.
