Our wonderful King takes the mound for the first time since that one awesome thunder-and-lightning 11-run domination against the Blue Jays. This time, however, the M's will face off against someone just a little bit better than Drew Hutchison. His name is David Price.
The 2012 Cy Young Award winner is certainly in the conversation for the top three left-handed starters in the game. The bad news there is that the M's haven't fared particularly well against good left-handed starters and have already lost to Price once this year.
In a game that will catch the eye of many across the country, the M's are going to need all the firepower they can get to dispatch one of the most fearsome pitcher-team matchups in baseball. However, these are the new and improved Mariners with a few new, shiny bats and with a swagger they didn't have back in May. The M's are hot and firing on all cylinders and maybe, just maybe, Felix Hernandez and the Seattle Mariners are truly the most terrifying matchup in all of baseball.
- Seattle Mariners @ Detroit Tigers, 4:08pm PT
- Game will be televised on ROOT Sports and broadcast on 710 ESPN
- There was a little bit of panic last night as to whether Cano would be OK after fouling a ball off his foot yesterday. Good news: he's in the lineup and batting third.
