Do you have what it takes to be a Major League Baseball General Manager?

Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

Hello armchair GMs and rosterbaters,

Recently you have been pretending to be a baseball general manager.  In order for us to allow you to continue this behavior we would like you to complete this short aptitude quiz.  The points awarded for each question will be listed at the bottom.  We ask that you keep track of your answers on your own privately owned piece of paper or note taking electronic device in order to figure out your point totals once the quiz is completed.  It should go without saying, but honor and honesty are highly valued attributes of general managers and cheating on this quiz by looking at the points available for each answer is not only highly discouraged, it may be punishable under the law.

Once your score is totaled please refer to the 1990s style magazine list of point total results at the bottom.  Combined results of all test takers should be available.  Possibly.  Maybe.  This is a colon:

RESULTS:

If you scored:

0-30 points: You are not only unfit to be a major league baseball general manager, you are unfit for your current job.  To that effect, your quiz results have been forwarded to your boss with the recommendation that you be fired.  You should not be employed in any position which requires basic human skills such as breathing, sitting, or blinking.  Your parents are ashamed of you and may not even let you move back in now that you are unemployed.

30-50 points: Unfortunately at this time we are not looking for anyone with your skill set.  Thank you for your continued interest and please continue to hone your craft in private.  Please do not contact us about future opportunities that we may advertise.

50-100 points: You are strong and confident and if he doesn't realize that it's his loss.  Don't change who you are just to impress someone who isn't interested.  Stay the course and the right man will find you!

100+ points: Holy wow!  You are a prodigy.  Billy Beane is very interested in bringing you on for the opportunity of a lifetime.  Please forward your pertinent information to the hiring manager listed on your application here. They are waiting for you, and you alone.  Apply now, quickly.
