It's Friday, King Felix is on the mound, and all is right with the world again.
At least, we hope it will be. It's been a rough week for the Mariners, who are looking for their first win since Monday night's 5-2 victory against the Mets. Tonight, they'll take on Kevin Gausman and the Orioles, who took the first of the four-game set with a 4-0 shutout last night.
Gausman is coming off of his worst start of the season. The 23-year-old right-hander was forced out after four innings against the A's last Sunday, giving up nine hits, five runs, and two walks in the Orioles' 10-2 defeat. Due to high pitch counts, Gausman hasn't lasted longer than six innings since June 7, but has held his opponents to one or fewer runs in five of his eight starts. Also, rumor has it that he has a mini powdered donut fetish.
As expected, Jesus Montero has been optioned back to Tacoma. Kendrys Morales will reprise his role as the Mariners' DH tonight and bat cleanup.
