Well we didn't get the marquee pitching matchup we were promised yesterday, and the Yankees are trotting Masahiro Tanaka out to start today's game against the Mariners and Chris Young. They are using the whole excuse of a "rainout" in Kansas City last week, and this and that blah blah blah. I'm pretty sure what really happened is that they realized they were going to have to face Chris Young today, and switched the whole thing up in fear. Yep, that's it.
In case you missed it earlier, Logan Morrison has been called up and gets the start today at first base. Smoak goes to the 15-day DL with a quad injury that has been impacting him for quite some time, and will be able to get an extended break to let it heal over the next week or so. Around Morrison today will be the usual cadre of confusion including Cole Gillespie DH'ing in the nine hole, which...well you gotta break up a string of lefties somehow!
Anyway. Here's to a new winning streak hopefully started against one of the most exciting and effective young pitchers in the league. Easy stuff. Go M's.
