Felix Hernandez vs. Dan Straily.

USA TODAY Sports

Happy Felix Day!

After an unfortunate oversight by the Oakland A's grounds crew, the infield has been dried out and prepared for today's matinee. The Mariners appear to be skipping over Chris Young, who was slated to start on Friday night, in favor of keeping the rotation on schedule. According to the Seattle Times' Ryan Divish, Lloyd McClendon has temporarily reassigned Young to the bullpen so that Felix can stay on track for his home opener on Friday. The A's have moved yesterday's starter Dan Straily into today's lineup, and it can be assumed that southpaw Tommy Milone will make his first start of the season on Sunday.

In unrelated news, Taijuan Walker pitched in a rehab start with the Single-A High Desert Mavericks yesterday, lasting 4 1/3 innings and giving up four hits, a walk, a run, and striking out seven batters in 72 pitches.
